Isn’t “the driver picks the music” a universal rule?
Really depends on how far off your taste is from theirs and the social dynamics in the group. And if your thing is e.g. extreme metal, cranking that when the other people aren’t into it is IMO a dick move (and I say that as someone who often listens to extreme music himself).
Just put on Bohemian Rhapsody and everybody will be happy.
