Top Kansas Republicans want the Legislature to hold a special session to amend a state law related to transgender people, which they say is “even more important than redistricting.”

The move comes after the Kansas Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from Attorney General Kris Kobach related to Senate Bill 180. That 2023 law is the subject of a legal dispute over whether it blocks trans people from changing their gender marker on their driver’s license.

It also comes at a time when Republicans are moving toward calling a special session on redistricting with a goal of gerrymandering the congressional district maps.

I knew these guys lost their collective minds when they were throwing all kinds of complete nonsense at Obama, because they couldn’t call him the n-word (in public, anyway).

But I knew they got even fucking crazier when the bathroom bill stuff really got going, and then, just before this election, that stupid bitch Megyn Kelly told Bill Maher that trans was her #1 issue.

Number one? WTAF. These people are fucking CRAZY. What percentage of people are trans? And that’s Megyn’s #1 thing to be concerned about? I mean, you kind of always know these people are stewing in a cesspool of hateful craziness, but there are just certain moments you can point to that really demonstrate just how much they keep devolving.

If there is a timeline, in the days since W, it’s the “Tea Party” thing, their sudden obsession with long form birth certificates, their 8 year primal scream at Obama (basically a moderate Republican) in general, all the Pizzagate/Qanon horseshit, the bathroom bills [1], going balls-deep on Taco, losing their fucking minds over masks and vaccines and social distancing, storming the Capitol in a planned terrorist action for Taco, them acting like Biden was really doing something to them (lol) during his term, acting all butthurt that Taco actually had moderate consequences of almost no real substance while he was out of office, and then seeing people like Kelly say that “men in sports” is her single issue…SMH.

But these people have zero sense of proportion about really anything. The right are the people that watch B reels of scaravans heading to the border and think there is a zombie horde of BROWN PEOPLE heading right to their house or something.

[1] I cannot count how many times some old white dude has told me he should throw on a wig and a dress, declare what his pronouns are, and go into the women’s bathroom. I just…don’t even know what to say to that. My main reaction, as a cishet white male myself, is - that sounds absolutely NASTY. Why the fuck would anyone want to do that?

I just think they are telling on themselves. They think men are pretending to have gender dysphoria to do what THEY want to do.

I used to think there was some realness …like a basic natural idea that yeah maybe a person could be “against” this stuff for real reasons. But now i just have no faith in humanity. Like humanity is clearly dumb as fuck and basically zombies.

The last place I lived I saw maybe under 10 trans people in my 35 years of life. …and we had Nazis protesting them because it was apparently an epidemic.

Yep, they have to have an enemy. Some group they can target and blame. Otherwise their whole cult falls apart.

It’s even less than that. 380 have applied for changed markers in 11 years.(source: https://kansasreflector.com/2025/10/02/kansas-republicans-shift-focus-from-gerrymandering-to-anti-trans-law-in-quest-for-a-special-session/) I live in Kansas, I’m so tired of this bullshit.

We voted as a state to protect abortion rights too and the legislature is trying to figure out how to restrict it anyway. They want to introduce a constitutional amendment to make the Kansas Supreme Court an elected position, likely so that they can get their way on everything by funding the crap out of their favored judges.

Kris Kobach is a shit stain.

Trans people, by mere existence, threaten the status quo in the eyes of these losers.

Think about it - if you can do something to escape the misery you were born into and have agency of your own body, then it’s harder for aggrieved reactionaries to enforce the rigid hierarchy they think they’re entitled to. Suddenly their easy in to a luxurious job is threatened, and they may actually have to compete for positions of power, or even a nicer house.

They want control, and they want higher status over other people. Happiness for those who question the “superiority” of the dominant lifestyle and dogma isn’t allowed. Conform to the caste system or be punished - and they take delight in punishing their “lessers.”
