Gaza’s government media office accused the Israeli army of “committing a horrific massacre”. More than 70 people were killed and about 250 others wounded, it said in a statement on Thursday.

The citizens had congregated at al-Rashid Street, where aid trucks carrying flour were believed to be on the way. Al Jazeera verified footage showing the bodies of dozens of killed and wounded Palestinians being carried onto trucks as no ambulances could reach the area.

“I have been waiting since yesterday. At about 4.30 this morning, trucks started to come through. Once we approached the aid trucks, the Israeli tanks and warplanes started firing at us, as if it was a trap.

Hey Bibi, get fucked by an army of blue whales. You genocidal asshole.

In no way I’d support Hamas, but that my government still supports Israel is a fucking outrage.

No they’re not. No matter how horrific the actions of their government, never conflate that government with its people. Israelis have been killed horribly by Hamas, that doesn’t mean Palestinians are evil. Neither population deserves this violence.

Edit: yes, the Israeli children herded into a basement and then killed with a grenade deserved it, because Israelis are evil. Here’s a fun game: replace “Israeli” with “Palestinian” in that sentence. I can’t believe you guys aren’t familiar with that one already.

Israel is a very wealthy nation. Most of the people living there have the means to leave, unlike those literally trapped in Gaza.

Israelis choose to live in one of the most contested and controversial places on Earth. Why? Because they think they’re entitled to it. That’s what Zionism is all about.

I have no sympathy for Israelis unless they are doing everything in their power to leave.

so i’m guessing you’re referring just to israeli jews? not israeli druze, bedouin or arabs?
and which jews are you referring to that “choose to live there”? as a lot of israeli jews have been there for some generations by this point. it’s their home (let alone the families who remained since the kingdom of judah).

and that’s some nice propaganda for israel, but unfortunately israel’s poverty rate is among the highest in the developed world. while also being one of the highest cost of living countries.
bibi’s economic policies and transfer of funds to ultra-orthodox organizations and private education institutions has only made things worse for most over the years.

What would a few people leaving do? Where would they go, and to what benefit? You realise that to leave, another country would have to grant them a visa, and visas can be denied? What about the ones that don’t have the means to leave? The US is one of the wealthiest countries on earth, do you think everyone here can just up and fuck off to another country as well?

It sounds like you haven’t thought this through.

The United States. Israel is an albatross around its neck. The best solution for all parties involved would be for Israelis to relocate to the US, which has plenty of room to accept them.

The US is one of the wealthiest countries on earth, do you think everyone here can just up and fuck off to another country as well?

No. Why would you think that?

I would think that because you said “Israel is a wealthy country” and then proceeded to link that statement to the idea that everyone in Israel should up and leave and if they’re not doing everything they can to leave then they don’t deserve your sympathy for the Hamas attacks.

If you think that the US will just take in ten million refugees sight unseen, I want whatever you’re smoking. You clearly have no idea of the logistics required to put even half of your insane bullshit “solution” into action. I recommend thinking about it more, maybe reading a little.

Spoken like a child. What’s sad is, we’re on the same side, but you’re happy to alienate anyone for daring to remind you that Israelis are as much victims of their government as Palestinians are, and that your “solutions” aren’t “hard”, they’re entirely nonviable.

Lucky for you, you don’t have to take me seriously at all, I’m going to block you and never interact with you again because I find you unpleasant.

You should look up the experiments done by Stanley Milgram. He showed that “Just following orders” is a reasonable defense, by showing that “normal” people will also “just follow orders” more often than not, even absent the threat of any direct or indirect detriment to themselves.

The flour massacare: According to Bisan who is trapped in Gaza this was (one of the) the first deliveries of Flour to the north of Gaza. since a long while. The IDF used this to massacare Palestinians with.

Death count is not 104 according to Aljazeera with 1000 injured. The IDF shot at 1000 people looking for food. Israel are Nazi’s.

Aerial footage from the IDF (not NSFW) twitter link

Ground footage (dark, tracer rounds can be seen but not graphic): Twitter link

Biden is the person that is making this possible by supplying israel with weapons they use to commit these massacres. Boycott your votes for Biden until he stops this Genocide.

Looking at your post history, it seems clear you’re trying to make sure trump wins. This is all you do all day long, blame Democrats during election season, for something they aren’t in control of. Knowing that trump winning would be worse on this issue mysteriously having zero effect on your message.

Instead of engaging critics, you Biden cultists just gang up on and bully anyone who criticizes your shitty candidates.

The more I see comments like yours, the more I think about sitting this one out and watching you evil motherfuckers cry in November. It’s so pathetic how you’d rather attack people than own Biden’s foreign policy decisions. And you act like you’re sooo much better than the GOP while you pull the same exact shitty tactics they use.

Boycotting votes for Biden won’t do anything because the US government, regardless of what party is in power, is unanimously pro-Israel. Boycotting voting for Biden accomplishes nothing in the face of united MAGA voters.

It’s not November yet I’m not sure why you are already defending Joe Biden while he is still perfectly able to stop committing Genocide which would stop him from losing votes to people who oppose Genocide.

Or are you hoping he keeps this Genocide going until November?

Also, good job misrepresenting everything I said. When did I tell him not to stop? I’m just telling your idealist college kid brain that he’s simply not going to, whether we like it or not. Nobody is, and nobody realistically can except Bibi. Maybe redirect your efforts where they might actually count, toward Israeli citizens themselves, rather than lashing out where it absolutely will not matter. We can stop the Genocide with a choice for Biden to stop Genocide or lose the election. If he still chooses Genocide then we need to put on an entirely different tinfoil hat.

Trump won’t bend and neither will his base but the Democrats cannot ignore the progressive who will not be complicit in Genocide.

If the Genocide will still be ongoing then you are in fact condoning israel. Empty words mean nothing.

You are handing the reigns to trump who we all know will be way worse.

Thereby making it obvious that you know you’re a liar and don’t give a fuck about any Palestinian. You’re specifically supporting the opposite of what you’re obsessively claiming to want.

Your Lemmy profile is truly fucked. Guessing it’s one of several accounts

Not voting for Biden is not a vote for Trump. Telling people they shouldn’t vote for someone actively supporting a genocide is not telling them to vote for Trump. If someone does not vote for Biden it is a failing of the Democratic party. A leftist who does not vote for Biden is not effectively giving a vote to Trump because they were never going to vote for either.

The liberal fear of the Republican party and specifically Trump is what allows the Democratic party to move further and further right. The Democratic party will continue to move further and further right until it’s only campaign strategy is that they aren’t as bad as Republicans. It’s already happening

Show me your plan to get 51% of the electorate to vote 3rd party and you’d be correct. 51% of the electorate will not vote 3rd party, so you are 100% incorrect. A vote for 3rd party, in reality, is throwing away your vote allowing the candidate who is polling higher a better chance at winning.

Any single vote lost for Biden allows the Trump voters (who don’t give 2 shits about genocide in Gaza) 1 less vote against their guy, which in turn makes it more likely Trump will win. First Past The Post is a winner take all thing. There’s no 2nd place in politics.

Trump is polling higher than Biden, so no. Abstaining from voting is the same thing as voting for the more popular candidate. You need to learn how your country’s electoral system works.

Biden is the person that is making this possible by supplying israel with weapons they use to commit these massacres. Boycott your votes for Biden until he stops this Genocide.

Yup, it’s only Biden, not the overarching position of all US foreign policy and basically every elected official past, present, and almost certainly future, since World War II. And definitely not the fault of Bibi himself.

Plus Biden is God, if he says the word, it stops. Bibi definitely won’t seek other avenues.

      edit:

You do realize how ridiculous it sounds that you are going to basically let the guy win who:

      • actually instituted a Muslim travel ban last time he was in office
      • has literally described himself as “the most pro-Israel president ever”

The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution on Dec. 12 that called for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war amid an intensifying humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The General Assembly resolution came after the U.N. Security Council, the only body in the U.N. with the power to pass legally binding resolutions, was unable to pass a cease-fire resolution because the U.S. blocked it. The U.S. has a long history of using its Security Council veto to support Israel.

              [1][2][3]

In addition to vetoing the Dec. 8 cease-fire resolution, the U.S. vetoed an Oct. 18 resolution calling for “humanitarian pauses.” The latter vote happened during President Joe Biden’s trip to Israel, and the U.S. delegate on the Security Council said the council needed to let U.S. diplomacy “play out.” The delegate expressed disappointment that the resolution draft didn’t condone Israel’s right to self-defense.

              [4][5]

The U.S. has vetoed resolutions critical of Israel more than any other council member – 45 times as of December 18, 2023, according to an analysis by Blue Marble. The U.S. has vetoed 89 Security Council resolutions in total since 1945, meaning slightly over half of its vetoes have been used on resolutions critical of Israel. Of the vetoed resolutions, 33 pertained to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories or the country’s treatment of the Palestinian people.

The US is the single biggest supporter of the Israeli genocide. You genuinely believe the president of the United States can do nothing about this? We can’t criticize him so he knows that ending his active support for genocide would make him more electable? Who am I shilling for? As far as I’m aware I’m not promoting anyone here. The sources are literally direct links to the UN website. These are not opinion pieces that can be argued. The US did this the US is responsible for its own actions. The president of the United States, head of the executive branch is responsible for their own actions. I’m so confused as to what you think I’m doing here

Are you suggesting that the head of the most powerful military in the world and the individual responsible for US international diplomacy who has the power to organize treaties and appoint ambassadors should not be held accountable for their actions?

Or is it that you think the US has no control over its client state that could hardly survive without its sponsorship? Because if that’s the case there is historical precedent that it does. There have has been more than one occasion where Israeli overstepped far enough that the standing US president has to tell them to cut that shit out and they did. Sure maybe Bibi has turned Israeli into a rogue state, if that’s the case so you really think we could’t stop him? The US has invaded for much less

Let’s presume, for a moment, that you are not being disingenuous. Let’s also presume that Biden simply won’t do the thing you want him to do, which is the most likely scenario. What is your endgame? We know what will happen: Trump will get elected. He will also definitely not do the thing you want. Now you have a president who will further embolden Israel to do as it pleases.

Care to offer an alternate endgame?

“A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or group of people when he or she does not benefit and may even suffer losses.” By this definition, sitting out the vote when you want Israel to stop, thereby allowing an even more pro-Israel president to become elected, is stupid.

edit: It’s been 13 hours and so far, crickets. As I thought would happen.

In addition to Biden not stopping the Genocide, Biden bypassed Congress to give israel weapons to commit more Genocide.

If Trump wins it will be the fault of the people that supported Biden doing Genocide so much that Biden did not think he needed to stop doing Genocide.

Nope. It will be the fault of people who didn’t vote for the other candidate with full knowledge of how first-past-the-post elections work. You lot want to throw the baby out with the bathwater on this one, and it is knuckle-draggingly stupid. Maybe if Trump had come out and said he would unequivocally cockblock Israel from further action in Gaza, it would be one thing, but there is exactly zero evidence of this, and the rest of the garbage that comes with a Trump presidency is very much a known quantity. Including his stated intentions to end the American experiment as we know it.

Us lot are going to make sure that Biden loses if he continues this Genocide.

If you want to lose the election by telling Biden he can continue to support Genocide that’s your fault.

You can see the polling numbers in Michigan backing up my claim. The faster Biden stops the Genocide the faster he can actual start an election campaign.
