I don’t think they like Muslims, but really it’s leftists that they hate. The fact that successful Muslim candidates tend to be leftist is just a not-so-coincidental coincidence.
What’s the common factor?
That Muslims tend to be strongly anti-Zionist, anti-imperialist, despised by racists on the right and disliked by racists on the center. A politically literate Muslim will have a lot more in common with the left, and the left will be a lot more likely to support a Muslim that agrees with them, than the center or right. And this is before we even get into the very real cultural and religious reasons a Muslim might have left-leaning beliefs.
Democrats hate people who put the people ahead of oligarchs more than they hate Republicans.
