There is much more to life than work. We all have families, friends, and a beautiful world to enjoy. We need more time off to enjoy it.

I’ve done the 4 day work week before, and it was only great for awhile. After a few years my hobbies and interests weren’t enough to fill three full days off every week. It was then I realized I’d be happier putting in after few hours everyday then being free for whatever the rest of the day.

That sounds like a you problem, not an issue with the plan.

      Try new hobbies?

“I’m not creative enough to fill my own time, so I’d rather just work more often so other people can tell me what to do” is just such an insane complaint one can have …

Blame the culture I grew up in not me. If you’re comfortable lazing away day after day go ahead, I can’t do that.

          Who said anything about lazing?

It sounds like you can’t conceive of doing things that are productive without someone else telling you exactly what you need to be doing at any given time.

I explicitly mentioned hobbies, not starting blankely at a screen mindlessly consuming - is that all you do in your downtime? Is that what you think hobbies are?

To each their own, I suppose. I’m fine with people opting to work more, like maybe get a second job or something if they feel like they have too much time with nothing to do, but that’s the thing: they should be able to choose. A shorter work week wouldn’t impede someone like you, it would actually help you make more money by freeing up time for you to take on more projects. Think of it more as “my time, my choice”.
