This only helps them do it faster, and with a martyr to rally behind while doing it. There’s nothing good coming from this kind of violence in the current political context, even if it could be morally justified, it is strategically stupid and only serves to further empower Trumpism.
If you think this event is going to meaningfully change the end-state that they’re aiming for, you’re kidding yourself.
If anything, this’ll just make them try to speed up the progression - which paradoxically, I think may end up being a good thing, because they’ll try to do too much, too fast, and end up triggering a ton of backlash and resistance, instead of boiling the frog slowly as they were doing before.
Not to mention, I wouldn’t be enormously shocked if this turns out to be some sort of false-flag thing, done simply to generate a casus belli against any and all Americans they don’t like.
All they want is an excuse to do exactly what they’ve always wanted to do.

I’m not advocating adventurism, but let’s not pretend they need help.
