Those preorder bonuses are weak AF. Digital gets you the original FF7, but why would you sink 40-80 hours into that game (especially if you did it before) when you have the Remake? Also, my iPhone can play FF7, it goes on sale for like two bucks all the time. On more open platforms, you have even more options, but I’m sure I can do it on my iPhone as well, I just don’t know how.
And the pack of cards for the physical? It’s not enough to play. What you need is a starter set. Then the booster pack they give you can be used to swap out lesser cards for potentially better ones. Unless you just want them for the card art, which is valid.
Both bonuses are worth about five bucks.
I was hoping for a steelbook for the Xbox version. I was also hoping to get it for my birthday this month. Would have made a good Christmas present, too, but sounds like they couldn’t get it ported soon enough and/or they hit bugs or something.
Lastly, “Remake Integrade” is only one-third of the game. That will be obvious if you play(ed) the original. I believe it ends when you escape from Midgar (the big city with the reactors shown in the trailer/opening). That was roughly a third of the way into the game in 1997. Of course, the remake is much longer. I’m not saying they’re giving you a third of a game, just that it’s missing 2/3 of the story. PlayStation has the second third. Nobody has the ending yet. Point is, I would like to see a promise from Squeenix that we’ll actually get the other parts on Xbox and Switch, and not in 5 years like it took them to port the first part.
