While the media fixate on partisan blame, Russ Vought and a hard-right GOP faction are quietly using the shutdown to sidestep Congress and reshape government.
A trial? They are so wealthy that they could easily pay every fine imaginable and afford a lawyer who could convince any judge to provide wrist-slap punishments such as a month of community service or a year at one of those rich people prisons that are in reality day spas.
There is no “legal” system for the wealthy, only for you and me who couldn’t afford the impacts to our lives from the fines or jail time with a normal lawyer.
