I don’t see the red head, it doesn’t look like a juvenile, and something about the body shape seems off for a sandhill crane - I’m not sure what it actually is though. Also I’m a lot more familiar with the Florida sandhill crane and those are somewhat different (and seemingly more common, I’ve not seen one since I moved to the Midwest).
Damn… Sandhill Cranes and corn fields really bring me 2,000 miles back home.
(On closer inspection, that may actually be a heron. Can we get a ruling on this one?)

Those are valid observations. My bet is on a juvenile Great Blue Heron.
