I thought this was the onion and migratory birds had to go through customs.
Because the US government hasn’t done enough to discourage Canadian tourism?
I live in Canada, my Parents live in the US.
this past weekend my Uncle in England passed away from cancer and my parents are heading back for the funeral. I’m absolutely terrified for them because they have dual US and Canadian Citizenship. I’m scared what’s going to happen to them when they try to re-enter the US. I really wish they didn’t have to go.
They have dual citizenship. If they present their US passports, they’ll look like any other citizen. I don’t think you have anything to be terrified about yet
It would be much clearer to write rich Canadians who can afford to spend their winters down South instead of Snowbirds.
How about “wealthy Canadian part-time residents who contribute significantly to the Florida economy”.
“rich Canadians who continue to support an authoritarian state” also works depending on the audience.
…and Arizona!
Well, what did you think a snowbird is? And you don’t have to be “rich”, lots drive down and just stay in trailer parks, etc. Probably cheaper than living in Canada.
Probably cheaper than living in Canada.
try getting sick.
A bird living in snowy habitats
I guess if you are not Canadian it might be confusing, it is a very common term here.
“snowbird” is also used in northern US, florida is probably the most common snowbird destination for michiganders (from what I hear, I’m not allowed that far south)
Ya, eastern Canadians go to Florida, western Canadians head to Arizona. Well, at least they used to.
good news for mexico.
