Is anyone else experiencing issues with their official Jellyfin Android app after upgrading? Mine sees the server but gets stuck on the splash screen. Just looking to confirm if it is a larger issue or something specific to me.
Edit for context: Android app ver 2.6.3 accessing through my local network. Browser on Android and the app on my PC worked.
Edit solution: I had to uninstall and reinstall the Jellyfin app.
- I had it, I had to clear the cache (not data). Fixed it instantly. - Same here
- Same and same
- Clearing cache didn’t work, but total reinstall did. Thanks for a point in the right direction.

- I haven’t seen anything myself. - But are you trying to access it remotely or local?
Do you see any errors in the logs of the server or your router? Are you able to load it via chrome on your android device? What about from a PC on the same network?- I updated with some of the details on the original post in case you’re curious, but reinstalling the app was the winning ticket. Thanks for the willingness to help

- my tablet can’t play anything for longer than 5 minutes, and my media pc stutters badly, but it’s on a very old version because the newer versions don’t return to home screen after playback finishes… thinking I’ll have to roll back the server and block future updates
- Working fine here, the app connects to the Jellyfin 10.11.1 server over the internet without issue. - I’d suggest maybe double-check and make sure you still have a port forward from the internet to your Jellyfin server? Usually for me when the app gets stuck trying to connect it’s because it can’t see and connect to the Jellyfin server for some reason. Also in the 10.11.0 release notes they did mention that they removed the ability for the Jellyfin server to auto port forward so it’s possible that affected you? See https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/releases - Other random idea: Maybe somehow the data for your app got messed up? You can reset it and make it start fresh by bringing up its App Info (long-press the Jellyfin Android app), go to Storage & Cache, once there clear the storage and cache. When you re-attempt to launch the Jellyfin app it’ll start fresh and need you to re-enter your Jellyfin server details. - Yep it was the app. A reinstall fixed it. Thanks for the help.

- I am on 10.11.1 on windows and android app 2.6.3 and don’t have that issue.
- just checked on my server, which is on 10.11. Android app seems to be working fine. I tried signing out and then signing back in, and I was able to do so without issue. It’s sounding like this is an issue specific to your machine.
