I don’t think it matters that Xi thinks this or that, for me it’s the loss of influence, capacity and leadership that marks the decline. Electing someone so unsuitable and giving him power that no other president has wielded speaks volumes. Especially seeing what he has done with it.
Trump definitely has influence. He controls Venezuela. Europe seems reluctant to abandon the US although there is movement towards independence from the US.
