We all need to learn the things we thought are innocuous are harmful. Otherwise it’s too easy to throw up our hands and says it’s the euphemism tread mill. And we don’t have time to waste on that.
The fact that they suggest using person first language tells me they aren’t a good source. Identity first language is preferred in lots of neurodivergent circles. If you want to be proper you should really ask the person you are talking to what language they prefer to be used.
