    I think its becoming increasingly apparent that humans aren’t all that capable and that matching our capacity, especially with AI assisting us in iterating it, isn’t a very high bar.

    Our species largely isn’t made of of Socrates, Einsteins, and Oppenheimers. They were 1 in millions/billions outliers, not the norm.

    The fact is most people have only glimmers of sapience and intellect, if any at all. What AI and AGI might have more difficulty emulating is what we share with the life we dominated, the messy release of chemicals designed to supercede our intellect and self-awareness in response to input that was evolutionarily advantageous but is now a major hindrance in modernity: emotion.

    I imagine the lack of that legacy software, that crude form of motivation to act in a given situation, will be a major advantage in terms of making efficient, compliant workers.
