I just made a post about this on my own comm this morning about how the talk about the shit going on in the theatre is what is actually making me interested in going to see it, if it is at all true.

When I first saw Rocky Horror Picture Show it was at a midnight event, I didn’t know shit about it other than it was super popular for some reason. The audience participation made the film better. If that’s what going to the movies was usually like, I would want to go out to the movies more often instead of just watching everything at home.

At least for Rocky Horror, the mess is 100% expected by the staff for a one off screening every few months.

Dealing with this shit for every screening in every theater multiple times a day would have me put a lock on the doors. They don’t have the staff to deal with it constantly.

It depends on the mess, but kids movies are always messy and theaters have the staff on hand to clean those kinds of movies, or can increase staff if necessary.

I saw a compilation of clips from various theaters.

-kids were throwing shit all over the place

      -people were assaulting staff

-someone set one theater on fire during the screening

Who knows what else has been happening but those were the highlights.
