Representatives “punched” and “body-slammed” the ICE agents, she added.

LMAO. Super soldier democratic elected officials, defeating heavily militarized police units using unarmed combat. I believe it!

As usual, Republicans accuse Democrats of being much cooler than they really are.

Even better when you look at the accused!

      • Bonnie Watson Coleman - 80 yrs old
      • Robert Menendez - 39 yrs old
      • LaMonica Mclver - 38 yrs old

So basically two reps pushing 40, and an 80 year old woman “punched” and “body-slammed” these ICE agents. Menendez is a lawyer, and the two women have no fighting background either yet it sounds like they “handled” these agents with ease according to Noem.

In this Politico article it sounds like nobody had any issues until they started arresting the Newark Mayor.

McLaughlin alleged one of the members had “body slammed” an ICE officer, something that a POLITICO reporter on the scene did not witness. She told CNN there was a video of the incident that ICE would be released “very shortly.”

Seriously, she’s got serious mental issues. Next time you see a dog being “bad” like barking at you or whatever. Imagine shooting it. Bet there’s no way you could. I know I couldn’t and if I knew anyone that did, I’d keep a wide berth from them because they ain’t right in the head.

I mean, what’s worst is it’s an attempt to come off as making “tough” country decisions.

Like, I get it, if you’re on a rural farm and your dog is literally attacking people and is dangerous to animals and people, that might be a reason to put it down. However, even in rural areas there are vets who can do it in a humane way. The world of Old Yeller is a world away and there are simply better and more humane solutions. Some animals can be extremely dangerous to those around them, if they’ve been mistreated while being raised. However, that’s just it, it speaks badly to the person who raised them, and in Noem’s case, the dog just misbehaved, it wasn’t outright dangerous. So she just comes off as a complete psychopath looking for a reason to kill a dog, not a simple country farmer doing something they didn’t necessarily want to do but felt the need to do to keep their livestock and family safe from a dangerous dog.

This wasn’t written for us though, my right wing fil used to brag about doing this shit for 3 reasons

            1. It makes them seem like country bumpkins, there is some weird contest in the south where people try to compete for who is the most “country”
            2. They brag about how much money they saved not going to that lefty vet that’s just trying to pilfer their pockets
            3. It reminds them of the way their parents/grandparents used to handle stuff when there weren’t better options available.

So she brags about this to seem more “authentic” country to magats, and they eat it up.

So is referring to a woman as “Barbie” not sexist if she works for Trump, or is it still sexist but it’s ok to be sexist towards women who work for Trump?

(I’d ban Daily Beast links if I were in charge.)

I think the whole ‘Barbie’ thing is a reference to how the women in Trump’s orbit all have the same over-manufactured aesthetic.

Calling someone “Barbie” is not sexist at all as long as the person being called it is actually made of plastic, such as in this case.

Is Barbie inherently sexist? I think here it’s implying that she’s just there to be the good-looking face of corruption. She is being used as a toy. Is calling out the sexism by referring to her as ICE Barbie sexist, or is using her as an ICE Barbie sexist?

Edit: I think the answer can be and is both. I don’t support the use of ad hominem attacks. It just makes your argument easier to dismiss and is completely unnecessary when you have so many easy legitimate arguments to be made against this administration. However, I do think the bigger issue is the administration using her compared to the crass comment.

Yes, it’s an obvious reference to her looks. Lefty internet is not immune to sexism. It’s easy to spot every time MTG or Lauren Bobert make the news. In 2016 sexism in some left spaces wasn’t just allowed, it was enforced.

Yeah, it is an obvious reference to the fact she was hired for her looks. Is the sexism the comment or the reason she was put in the position she is in?

(I’d ban Daily Beast links if I were in charge.)

Maybe after they ban Breitbart and some of the other right-wing propaganda outlets that pop up here from time to time are banned. Actually, are any new sites actually banned here? Don’t like the site? Just down-vote and move on.

I do object to the use of Barbie here, though. Partly because I don’t hear the guys in his orbit referred to as Kens. But I mainly object because her being a plastic toy for the administration to use to spew talking points is not my main objection to her. I’m more offended by her being a sadistic monster.

This person took a one-year old puppy, that she hadn’t bothered training, into a gravel pit and shot it to death because it wasn’t trained. Now, while this is bad, what’s worse is that she included this story in her memoirs because she thought it was flattering to her. This is a far more important factor about the type of person she is and why everyone on the planet should hate her. She should never be named as anything other than Puppy-killer Kristi Noem.
