I had a crazy dream about 8 years ago where I was born and lived a whole life into the future to an age of ~ 27 years old if I remember. It was pretty much just more of everything. All the new shit was slick as hell, old homes still were right where they were but new high rise buildings were hundreds of stories tall filled with technology we cant wrap our heads around currently ( no teleportation or anything like that). Poverty seemed to be non existent. Everyone was wealthy but not in a monetary sense ,it seemed like civilization moved beyond that , the ego was dead on a global scale. There was apparently some sort of “miracle” that happened when I was an infant so I wasn’t amazed by it; in the same way a child born today wouldn’t be amazed by a cell phone or computer.

Way less hardship everything was really chill (there was no war or even any reason to lie ). Entertainment was more in the form of symposiums/ live performances at various types of meeting places with interaction between the speakers and the public, they were an almost daily occurrence and a large part of every day life. They were everywhere from parks , amphitheaters, behind store fronts in ally ways etc. Lots of public transportation, full carbon bikes (or who knows what material but they were feather weight and cheap, everybody had one The porn was absolutely crazy.

It was clean utopian skylines and you didn’t need to wear a paper gown with your ass hanging out if you went to the hospital because there was no need for surgery.

Anyway it was just a dream I wish I never woke up from. Were probably going to get the ashes and smoke, some “Dinosauria We” shit

Theodore Roosevelt could read several hundred page books every night in a few hours and have all the information on total recall …from what I’ve read. Apparently he would impress world leaders by studying their entire culture before meeting and it allowed him to deeply connect with them. My grandfather was the same way.

A buddy called me to fix some plumbing in a house he baught , he said the previous owners were hoarders. So I went over and the whole fucking basement was wall to wall book shelves with fucking isles!

He said the lady that owned the house was some eccentric type that hung out in NY back in the 50’s around artists and writers, traveling the world etc. her husband was some sort of critic and they liked books.

I asked what he was doing with it all and he said he sold the contents of the house sight unseen to some guy that wanted it all and was going to be arriving any minute but if I wanted anything to take it now. My brain was scrambling, I didn’t want to be a dick so I just grabbed two books; Tropic of Cancer and Future Shock ( and a bunch of lab equipment that was in a secretive back room lol). They were both first edition books and had newspaper clippings about Miller and Toffler among other reviews that were stuffed in the pages.

It was crazy because they had so much bad ass shit , old leather bound stuff etc. It was just too much to process and I hope it didn’t all wind up in a dumpster. I wish I could have spent a few days pillaging those shelves.

So these are not like a physical 1 terabyte external storage thingy that I’ve seen on ebay etc.? Would one of those external drives work for backing up physical media collections, or are they a bad idea? Is that considered NAS?

I’m sorry I don’t understand any of this stuff , I really should. I will check out the RAID wiki !
