it failed at something everything would have failed at.
Lidar first started getting deployed commercially in cars in 2017.
it is better today.
Teslas are still using the same sensors today that they were back then.

The point was to illustrate the failure of the visual system from way back then. And considering the price point of Teslas, the fact they still don’t have lidar today is criminal.

Very basic autonomous systems can avoid collision with a large flat stationary surface.
I guess Tesla’s systems don’t even qualify as very basic. Here’s a video from as far back as 2020. Tesla crashes straight into a huge flat surface.
There’s so many more examples if you go looking.

The ones with actual sensors can, anyway.

If so, which translation (using a modern-language translation alone could draw that condemnation from some commenters).
Yeah I’m sure Fox News is hotly debating the merits of Hebrew vs Aramaic vs Greek.

Dying is evolutionarily advantageous
We ceased adhering to ‘survival of the fittest’ the moment we discovered medicine, so that’s plain nonsense. Also, given the time scales that evolution works on, it’s just entirely irrelevant.

There’ll always be genocidal maniacs. Holding back the human race because of them is idiocy.

… and everybody else outside the US

Doubtful, since I haven’t figured out what point he was actually trying to make.

I’d like my partner’s knees to work again so they can do something I like. On their knees. To me.
There’s also some riding somewhere in there I suppose.

It doesn’t necessarily mean it was a benefit for the satellites either, though. There’s a case to be made it was mutually detrimental to both parties.

I’ll be frank, I still have no freaking idea what your problem is.

“It isn’t racist to call a Native American a ‘yank’ because I’m ignorant about racism.”
Courtesy of Wikipedia.
Outside the United States, Yank is used informally to refer to a person or thing from the US. It has been especially popular in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand where it may be used variously, either with an uncomplimentary overtone, endearingly, or cordially.[4]
Again with the Americentrism defaultism. You think that just because some people in your country use it as an insult or whatever, it must be true worldwide.
Would you like to explain how I was ‘dunking’ on an indigenous person when my statement was nothing more than explaining what Yankee means to the average non-American?
identifies them with the occupying settler state that has committed genocide against their people.
Dude, that’s your internal history. What makes you think any non American gives a shit about it?

Not necessarily what you’re looking for, but provides some interesting context for others

You imperialist coloniser superpower douchebag!

Billionaires, and everybody living outside the US

I’m Asian. My country was colonised by Europeans till half a century ago.
Keep going, this is funny. We’ve gone from ‘America is the only nation on earth’ to ‘oh yeah, Europe exists too’.

You try running into comments thinking they’re the only nation on earth in every health article and see how long you stay sympathetic.
Never said it does, just that it’s not so much an admission as pointing the finger.
