Thank you for jumping in and providing this context!
HistoryMemes@kbin.social
Very good point. I just had a look at https://lemm.ee/c/HistoryMemes@kbin.social, and despite having 34 local subscribers (visible in the sidebar), the newest post are from 2 months ago.
@PugJesus@lemmy.world, you might have been posting only for LW users for a while :-/
For movies, TV and animation
I just remembered it is even on their roadmap: https://codimd.tyhou12.xyz/s/TukD_H96z#Multi-communities
Feel free to upvote this issue on Github: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/818
Feel free to block those communities.
Then stuff like !casualconversation@lemm.ee or !parenting@lemmy.world will emerge
Nice
Thanks for sharing.
How relevant is Threads? Seems like most people who still want a centralized microblogging platform moved to BlueSky
Thank you for this post!
Good to know, thanks!
Are they all active ? I just opened !horror@lemmy.ml and the last post was 18 days ago
Zulip
Zulip is great, I really like there thread system, much better than Slack
Nice!
There are some power tripping mods, thankfully there are only a few
Also, 73 million seems exaggerated, or that’s counting the bots
Mander and SDF are great instances
At least 3 communities thar are not “tech news, political propaganda and memes”
Feel free to contribute there, I guess it’s easier to criticize than build something
Interesting
The last time I encountered a power trip mod, I created another community on the same topic, brought other people who were unsatisfied over, and the new community is much more active than the initial one.
It takes quite a while though.
