This is treating Twitter as a pornographic website, which the new French law puts more requirements on. If it was just a “I am over 18” button, I don’t think pornhub would pull out(pun unintended). It’s easy to bypass with a VPN or tor, but are you going to pull that out just to doom scroll for a hate fix? Maybe, but that’s a choice a lot of people are going to have to make.

Am I bringing another country into it? I think if you want the US to be the Nazis here, then I think what you want to argue that it’s like this brings up the Nazis invading Poland, and I mention Poland. But it’s not really. It’s like if you brought up polish war crimes against germany(theoretical, I’ll acknowledge unlike those the US war crimes are real) and I said Germany started it, now you want to know why I brought up Germany.

Edit: still not a great analogy. I hate analogies. More like saying WW2 was just US war crimes on Germany, I mention Germany started it by invading another Germany (because it’s not really WW2), and you ask why I bring up Germany.

The title is stating it like that’s all it was, when a war is thousands of times more complex equating their experiences to a single word outside of themselves.

Didn’t north Korea invade south Korea? You can claim it was justified, or that the US participation was whatever you want, but that’s how it started.

I want to see a romantic comedy, where in the background the TV is playing a news report about how Tokyo is being attacked by Godzilla again. No one in the foreground acknowledges it, probably because it’s so common you may not comment on it. Still some people in the background are looking concerned. And I mean government people on the payroll/ at parties dressed as a conference? Yeah you would have seen my edit. I acknowledge lobbying. That gold key service doesn’t mention the chamber of commerce, but yeah, they are definitely in it. Of course they would be. But they are not a part of the government itself… unless we can argue that tapeworms are a part of the pig, if the pig is lousy with them. Which is fair.

The chamber of commerce is not in any way part of the US government, but they take advantage of people who think they are. They are like a union but for rich people and corporations.

Edit: I guess you could argue they are part of the government as any other lobbying group, but that’s like saying that tapeworms are just a part of pork. Probably a position the US chamber of commerce would support if they thought about it.
