Requires you to use a phone number, your phone app needs to be online 24/7 to be connected, and hosted in a questionable jurisdiction with questionable human rights. Try Matrix. It’s selfhostable, doesn’t need a phone number to sign up and the foundation is British, which while this country from what I know has gone down the water, they still have some niceities from time they were in the EU, like GDPR.
Just some dude from central Europe. 🇸🇰
Happily spreading pro-EEA and pro-Slovak propaganda material.

GrapheneOS allows you to disable it. I just charge mine wirelessly, though if the charger supports MagSafe, then you’ll need to buy a MagSafe case for your Pixel, since built-in magnets are waaay too weak.

So if you want to, you can look up how to make an Delaware LLC if you’re European and how to make a bank account for it and do it.
Also just use plain old cash if you don’t want to do this. There’s nothing wrong with it.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Is it a good idea to change my system timezone to UTC+0 for additional privacy?
82·14 days agoNo, don’t do that. Some browsers check if your timezone is in check and if not then they refuse to load HTTPS webpages.
Won’t happen, mainly because of the fact that some motherboard manufacturers cheap out on OS-level firmware upgrade (looking at ya, MSI) and some motherboard manufacturers have shitty Secure Boot configuration just for Win11 to let users install it.
Have you guys hurd […]
Was that pun intended?

Cheers mate. I’m running GrapheneOS on my Pixel 9a.
