4·2 months ago“Outdated” is pretty debatable. The fear is that once platforms are legally liable for user posted content it will lead to an environment of censorship. Anything the federal government (or indeed private entities) don’t want talked about, they can simply tell social media companies to take down. Chances are the companies will comply because they don’t want to deal with the potential consequences of litigation.
I used to work at Boston Market, and there were definitely customers that would order a whole chicken just for themselves and eat it. Not every day or anything, but it wasn’t rare enough to raise eyebrows either.
I laughed way too hard at this

9·11 months agoI actually really like the story of Dune, but I kind of have to agree that the writing leaves a lot to be desired. The fact that Herbert constantly switches perspectives with no indication in the middle of chapters, or sometimes even in the middle of paragraphs, drives me up the wall. I almost couldn’t finish them because of that.

5·1 year agoYeah Proton is definitely the way to go over using Wine directly. Valve has put a ton of work into making it seamless. I have a large steam library and have found literally only one game (Destiny 2) that doesn’t work. And that’s just because Bungie has gone out of their way to make sure it won’t run on Linux for “anti cheating” reasons.

2·1 year agoI’ve gotten a lot of freezing and stuttering playing on my desktop PC (Linux with Proton). The deck actually seems to be more stable, though it is locked to 30 fps and textures still take a minute to load sometimes.

Or at any rate, that’s what I’m telling my job to try to get them to buy me a high spec gaming monitor.
