Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places, if you look at it right
And some idiot will pay
BRING BACK LUIGI!!! 😚👌
Unrelated and uninterestingly, I wrote a DnD Fallout campaign for my friends with lots of pop culture references…I think the boys are joining my story! Then two turnips in heat, I might bring out some other TPB cast. Worst case Ontario, I enjoy myself, best case my friends will love it and I can’t smile and say “Atoadaso! I fuckin atoadaso!!”
Fuck man. I had to go look it up to see who it was JARED f’n LETO! You know how to get me to never watch a movie? Cast Jared Leto in it.
Interesting way to spell Daleks. EXTERMINATE!!
You don’t get to vote outside of your own state for senators or representatives. Voting in your state doesn’t change the fact that other states have different priorities, and sometimes it feels like they’re just completely out of touch. My state has a Democratic majority in almost every part of our government, yet we’re still stuck with a president and federal government that most people here didn’t want or vote for. It’s frustrating because the system lets other states have so much power in choosing the president, even when it doesn’t reflect the will of people in places like mine.
So long as the increases in salary outweigh the increases in inflation, sure. But that will never happen. The entire system is flawed. Debt will grow and grow and those holding the debt will pull the puppet strings and make those below them dance (and suffer).
Companies need to ditch their boards. They need to delist from the stock market. They need to be 100% employee owned. Profits need to be set at a specific percentage of COGS.
…but greed, greed never changes.
The obsession with companies needing to post increasing profits every single year is frankly baffling. Let’s say a company makes X amount in profits in 2024, and everyone—employees, shareholders, stakeholders—are happy and well-compensated. Why should the expectation be that profits must increase in 2025, even if the company is already performing well? The only explanation that comes to mind is greed. It seems like the focus is less on long-term sustainability or fairness and more about feeding the insatiable hunger of CEOs and executives who just want more—more profits, more bonuses, more power. It’s as if they’re modern-day dragons, hoarding wealth for the sake of hoarding, rather than for the health of the business or the people within it.
Soooo, essentially WiFi enabled smoke detectors on trees? Yeah sounds like a simple, solid idea
Steal a peaceful nation and milk its resources 👏
They’re not just protecting him, they’re protecting themselves. If Clarence Thomas has to disclose his trips, so should they.
In my opinion, everything should be transparent for public servants—every penny received, every vote cast. If you want people to trust you, your actions need to be open and clear. When someone rushes to defend Thomas or any public figure in a similar position, my first thought is: What are they trying to hide? Ethics shouldn’t be optional. You weren’t elected because you’re cool and people liked you—you were elected to serve and represent the people. Unfortunately, it seems many elected officials have forgotten that. Those who’ve been in office too long have likely forgotten it entirely.
It’s time to remind them. If they won’t pass term limits, we can enforce them by not re-electing those who fail to live up to their promises. If an official doesn’t follow through on their campaign pledges, we need to vote them out. It’s time for Americans to take this country back. We need to stop letting the two-party system distract us. Let’s break free from the stranglehold of the Democratic and Republican parties and focus on a system where people come first and politicians are held accountable to the public, not the other way around.
So here’s my take: I never want to play a game with other people unless we’re sitting on the same couch. Because of that, I have no need for any of my systems to be permanently connected to the internet. The requirement for always-online systems is just ridiculous. The full game should be on the disk, and the only time I should need an internet connection is to download DLC or if the dev team releases a patch that addresses major issues or improves the gameplay experience.
You nailed it on the head—if X owns all X accounts, then X should absolutely be held liable and named as codefendants in all past and future litigation where content posted on X is used in the suit. By asserting ownership over the accounts, X is effectively taking on a level of responsibility for the platform’s use and misuse, akin to how a publisher is held liable for the content it distributes.
This raises serious implications for legal accountability. If X claims ownership, they are asserting control, and with control comes liability. They can’t just cherry-pick the benefits of owning the accounts (like monetization, data, and influence) without accepting the risks, including being dragged into lawsuits where harmful, defamatory, or illegal content originates from their platform.
It would also set a precedent for greater accountability in tech. Platforms often hide behind Section 230 protections to dodge responsibility, but if they step forward and say, ‘We own the content or accounts,’ then they lose the shield of neutrality and should face the consequences accordingly. It’s a slippery slope that X might regret going down if this theory gains traction in courtrooms.
Of course they are.
And nothing will happen. Here are some sanctions and tariffs that will be paid by the citizens of the issuing nation.
If it was used strictly as a chat app it still couldn’t hold water to AIM. I’ve got colleagues who insist on storing files there and if you couldn’t imagine SharePoint being any worse try using it in the Teams interface. Microsoft is too big for their own good. Instead of doing 1 thing amazingly, they do 1000 things shittily
He heard about that Hawk Tuah girl getting famous and he figured he’d give it a shot and spit on that thang himself.
