Thank you, I really appreciate that. I’m essentially an atheist too (I don’t even give it a label for myself because god and religion are just not a part of my life, and I don’t need them to be). And yet somehow I feel I have exponentially more compassion and value of morality than a large swath of these people voting in a monster, acting under the guise of being “good Christians”. Maybe I’m delusional, maybe I’m the one missing something, I don’t know. I still believe in humanity, but man I’m just sad right now. I am fucking gutted, I am so sad and angry and I don’t know what to do. I am overall a happy and positive person and believe in humanity but this win feels like it’s stripping me of a piece of that and I hate that! A community dedicated to all the niche communities, I like this. A post a day highlighting various ones or where people can announce the ones they’ve created. This is a good idea to at least spread the word of their existence

All of you being burnt out all the time isn’t helping anyone. You have to take care of yourself, you’ll be much better able to help and contribute to your family when you’re in a better mental and physical state. I’d suggest (as someone else did) to find a place relatively nearby so you can still help but at least have your own spacer. Good luck!

The land of opportunity

Well now I just looked up the documentary and put it on! Whatever this faction is I don’t think it’s representative of the whole. The ones near me I think have always embodied peacefulness. The temple has its doors open regularly, I’ve never really walked in and looked around but it would be interesting. It’s also in an area that’s really blown up in value since they bought it, worth many millions today. I’m sure they’ve been offered buyouts by developers but clearly didn’t accept any if so. Just goes to show it’s not about the money for them!

There’s a temple of theirs very near me. I don’t see many around now but back in the 90s it’s was a big thing. But they were always very peaceful here, not remotely sinister. They just played that tambourine and chanted away and did their own thing

I think a big part of living with gratitude, at least for me, means not living with any regrets. I mean sure there are things I’d like to do and places I’d like to go but I really wouldn’t regret anything. I think I mostly have my priorities in order as it is, I’d just be really fucking sad to have to leave this world…but so happy for everything I’ve had in it
