that’s a good way to discount any real situation
Computers and the internet gave you freedom. Trusted Computing would take your freedom.

that’s a good way to discount any real situation
it seems so. makes so much sense I can’t even comprehend it
it shouldn’t be hard if you run your own I2P router. I think you so this in the tunnel manager menu
as an additional measure, sure. but these blocks are not hard to circumvent, so it’s not enough in itself
that about:config hack is neat, but it would be much betterif firefox supported container tabs like on desktop.
Unfortunately since they moved back to their mercury based internal code forge, it’s become quite difficult to track the state of unimplemented features, so who knows if they even have it in mind
That’s undoubtedly useful, but won’t help with the google part, even if it uninstalls some google apps
GrapheneOS for google pixel phones, otherwise CalyxOS, DivestOS, maybe even IodéOS. All of these are Android but with better defaults, without irremovable spying garbage, and with some features nowhere else available.
if your phone is not supported by these, check LineageOS. or plan your next phone purchase according to the compatibility list of the above. if you’re going for longevity but you don’t need a flagship, Fairphone is agood choice, if you can look away from the lack of a JACK.
google through only the web, what a fucking joke. if you have a google account check your activity history. it will list the times you have opened an app.
if you don’t have a google account but your phone has google services, don’t be afraid that you can’t check it, they’re still harvesting it.
want to avoid it?
Step 0: don’t by samsung. xiaomi neither, they plan to make you unable to execute the next step.
Step 1: unlock your phone. take ownership into your hands. but back up your photos, the 2FA Authenticator app’s data and whatever else is important, because it will get deleted.
Step 2: install a privacy oriented custom ROM.
Step 3: profit
keep bank services contained in the firefox browser. if they don’t allow access there, switch banks, you’ll be better off with a smaller one anyways.
oh. is this optional? on a laptop it’s a good idea, but on my desktop I wouldn’t want it
when locking the screen, or when logging out?
if it’s the former, how will running programs not crash?
they couldn’t finish the message. maybe they were hit by the bus that was late
Torrenting has a very obvious digital fingerprint, so even if you’re using a VPN, your ISP knows you’re torrenting.
even through vpn? how? there are many other useful (and legal) things you can use that practically always makes traffic
sometimes people keep a container for the vpn/proxy, and set up the other one to use the network of the other container
I already commented on this, but do they actually block you from setting up multiple devices with the same key?
I don’t think that’s possible to block, but it could lead to problems (responses not arriving) when both devices try to use the same key.
in my understanding that won’t handle roaming between APs as good as a mesh setup. OpenWRT has a special wifi setup for that
the program uploads the information to somewhere, right? just like the telemetry functions in windows. adding the domain they use to popular blocklists would help those who use pihole or something similar to that.
we seriously need to get the reporting domain added to popular blocklists
hostname? MAC address? serial numbers? does "partitionx data also include names and GUIDs?
why would they need these? what is wrong with them??
that sounds interesting, but in this idea would those people have to pay for the expenses of the eldely? in my understanding the problem is not that the elderly wouldn’t be able to take care for themselves generally, but that they wouldn’t be able to pay for things they need or want.
because they don’t yet circumvent it. but also, are you completely sure everything is blocked? DoT, DoH traffic and such?
