I don’t go for early access games anymore since the Starbound fiasco.
Oh you’re right, I don’t know why I assumed otherwise…
I do that for open-source videos games, I pay for the steam version to support the creators (Dwarf Fortress and Cataclysm : Dark Days Ahead for example). I’m totally fine with it, as long as it’s a one-time fee, no subscription bullshit.
The elitism is fucking dumb, I agree, but Linux can pretty much run everything Windows can now, with a few exceptions of course. So far I’ve never encountered a Windows-exclusive game that I cannot run on my Deck. For productivity suites, I assume you mean MS Office, but doesn’t everyone use the online version now?
You should look into curl https://curl.se/
A perfectly coiled poop. 💩 People at the ice cream shop struggle to make a decent one most of the time, so I can’t imagine trying to do that with your asshole.
Probably used by a magical girl to decapitate samurais or demons or something.
If you want something user-friendly, use Linux Mint. There’s really no reason to choose Ubuntu over this. And for any other use it’s outclassed by other distros, it does not fill a niche. And I personally think that GNOME is crap and quite hideous.
We’re so fucked when Kessler syndrome will be in full effect.
It’s the fastest speed information can go through space, as far as we know. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of space. And a mean a LOT.
I don’t know who this guy was and I’m not American, but I dissaprove of people vandalizing or destroying old statues. They should be removed from public view if they’re controversial, but they should be kept (if they have historical significance). Destruction of history, no matter how dark it was, is a crime in my eyes. Nobody would think about destroying concentration camps or the likes, even though they represent the most horrific part of our history. And besides, pretty much everyone born more than two centuries ago were assholes and bigots by today’s standard, it’s hard to judge when most of them probably did not know better. Again, not cautioning what this dude did, probably slavery and a great deal of killing I imagine.
I wouldn’t call them “1-dimensional”, and they do have things to offer, but they go out to lose themselves, and drink like crazy. When we do have discussions they’re very interesting, and we sometimes do activities unrelated to drinking, but they’re not willing to go there often. Again, I meet these people at events in bars, so it’s very likely that they’re into drinking. My friends back home have mellowed quite a bit and we do normal stuff now. It’s just hard to meet new people outside school/workplace if you don’t have hobbies and you don’t want to go to bars or nightclubs.
You’re right, I’m 27 in a new country, and I meet people at meetups events (they very often takes place in a bar), so I’m bound to find people that are only interested in getting wasted. I’ve been meaning to pick some hobbies and find friends this way, I should get to it.
I’m with you there, I carry a small notebook with me everywhere I go and write notes about everything. I remember things that I wrote on paper more easily than inputting them on an app. I guess notetaking apps like logseq has a lot of advantages, like displaying and auto-formatting your notes in a nice way, but for me it’s not really useful. I don’t look at my notes everyday. Also it’s nice to do something without requiring looking at a screen once in a while!
I really should reduce my consumption, I’ve always hang around people that tend to get wasted on a weekly basis. Getting tipsy is enjoyable, but more than that is just fucking stupid. I also find it hard to talk about stuff with them, or to do meaningful activities, they just want to drink a lot and act like dumbasses in night clubs. So boring. I should try and find new friends, but I feel like most people act like this, honestly. It’s the same when I hang out with strangers. My hard limit is 3 drinks per night now.
I’ll wait until other countries validate the findings, or until someone makes a working prototype, before getting excited. Seems like it’s one of those “too good to be true” stories like the LK-99. Hype in tech and science almost always leads to disappointment.
