The Democratic campaign underestimated just how stupid, racist, and misogynistic the average US citzen is. Don’t get me wrong, they should’ve known and definitely could’ve ran a better campaign, but this is mostly on Americans being too dumb to know what’s best for them.
I personally don’t blame any minorities, considering white men and women were by far the most prominent Trump voters. The US is a country of racist dumbasses.
One could hope, but the evangelicals got many of those Catholic judges installed. So they won’t get to that point anytime soon. There’s too many progressives, LGBTQ+, POCs, and atheists left in the US for them to target, still, and it will be that way for a long time.
Orange asshole is definitely going to get more of those court appointments over the next 4 years. And they will all pretty much be there for the rest of our lives. Any sort of sense of democracy that the US had was probably dealt a death blow today.

I think you misunderstand how money is made off of these kind of things. Companies like TikTok, and YouTube make money by showing you ads and collecting data on you to sell.
A federated app, like this one we are talking about, is ad free, open source, and does not collect data on it’s users for resale. Video hosting costs a lot of money, so unless users are willing to donate to keep it up and running, it will quickly run out of server space to host videos.
Lawyers will be honest or dishonest, just depending on what’s best for the person who is paying them. Their jobs are dependent on getting good outcomes for their clients, so they can most definitely be trusted if you are the one paying them.
Some pro lifers, especially the religious kind, would count the morning after pill as an abortion. Catholics come to mind first.

Nobody is aborting viable fetuses that are able to live on their own, except in very extreme cases where both the mother is going to die, and the child can’t be saved by out of womb care. In those cases, it is horrible, but necessary, and no one is willingly going through that. The vast majority of abortions involve a pill and a clump of cells.

Abortions save lives. Many cases of abortion involve women who would die without one. Nature is the only ‘horrible’ thing that makes it necessary.
Abortions also keep unwanted children from being born, which many would argue is a worse fate than being aborted. This one can be blamed mostly on the horrible state of the world, and the carelessness of people (I wouldn’t ever refer to anyone as horrible for simply going through with an abortion, and actually see it as a selfless and empathetic act in most cases). Again, these kind of voluntary abortions are never being performed anywhere near or after the point in time that the fetus could be considered a living being, though.

Yea, I’m a millenial, and I remember mostly only interacting with old Macintosh LCs in elementary school, and then Windows 95 and up after that. My uncle had an old Tandy computer running DOS, that I remember at least learning how to run a game on, but by the time I was interacting with a computer, regularly, Windows 95 and AOL were the most common thing.
Usenet is awesome, but the fact that you have to pay for Usenet access defeats the main purpose of pirating for a lot of people.
Don’t get me wrong, it is super cheap(60$-100$/year?) and worth it to pay for Usenet from what I understand, but as a poor kid that discovered torrenting out of necessity, paying for Usenet back then would’ve been out of the question. I imagine a lot of Gen Z kids feel the same about it at this point in their lives.
There is a screamo scene made up of gen z kids that seems to be rising in popularity. Check out a band called Catalyst… if you want to get an idea of what they are doing. Its actually really good stuff, and reminds me of the underground emo/screamo scene back in the late 90s/early 2000s.

It’s pretty crazy to think about, but regular passenger jumbo jets experience hurricane force winds constantly. What actually puts a lot of stress on an aircraft fuselage is sudden shifts in wind speed, especially if the forces are vertical and cause the plane to rise or fall rapidly.
So, most modern planes could fly through a hurricane as long as they travel with the direction of wind and avoid major pockets of turbulence. The C130s are extra strong, because they are built to handle the stress of transporting very large payloads. The hurricane hunters use these, and other aircraft like them, while they are pretty much empty, so they have a lot of extra stress tolerance to work with.
OK I see now. I think that both are true in a way. It’s kind of a negative feedback loop. The mode of production makes more people greedy and less empathetic, and that makes people more opposed to changing to a fair mode of production. Again, that’s just my opinion, I am not an economist, just a simple Prole.
