  • Bolshe morality? What in the samhill is that?

    Porn wrecks your mind?

    Porn stops your sexuality? Wtf.

The real question is do you recognize you’re in some rabbit hole and that you shouldn’t assume even your starting framework is agreed upon by most other people.

Edit: your edit only makes me wonder if you’re pleased with the algorithm funneling you to this sort of content and how your viewing habits reinforce it. Why wonder about people who think porn stunts their sexuality (still wtf?!?) when you can be watching literally anything else? Any idiot can post a YouTube video, doesn’t mean you have to watch it.

  • KitchenAid mixers before they got cheap

I inherited a 6" Wilton vise from my dad. He’s still alive but I convinced him to pass it on to me early because I had a couple projects it would be super helpful on. And maybe a little bit to beat my siblings to the punch.

    Zippo lighters.

My dad also has a Lincoln Electric welder that will last to pass onto another generation or two. He still uses it though and again, I probably have a sibling or two who would also appreciate having it.

  • I tend to get headaches more frequently at a certain point in my ~monthly cycle, not at the same time I have my period. It’s nice to know it’s coming so I can plan accordingly. Like avoid being on a road trip at that time, or proactively knocking it out with meds before it even starts.

Some people find their cycles affect their energy and recovery a lot, so they adjust their workout plans accordingly. Like knowing when within a cycle estrogen and testosterone are at their peak, versus progesterone.

Aside from just day count between periods, some people track temp, consistency of vaginal fluid, mood, weight, and probably other things depending on their needs.

  • Ever seen Superman III where Richard Pryor’s character realizes there’s rounding in the numbers of his company’s payroll, taxes, etc, so he writes a program to skim those partial cents into his account and he ends up shocked at the amount? And he knew it was illegal and everyone who learned of it knew it was illegal?

Companies profiting off AI trained on stolen material feels like that, but if the cops who discovered Pryor’s crime were to say “eh, partial cents aren’t a real thing anyway. No harm, no foul” and let Pryor keep skimming.

I think many people would agree with you. Not all.

Personally, I do think Puerto Rico is basically a colony in all but name. But I know people living in Puerto Rico now who disagree. And I tend to defer to the people actually living in The Place when it comes to discussions like this.

The Wikipedia article on the Puerto Rico statehood movement might also be interesting to you if you didn’t find it yourself already. Puerto Rico has had several referendums in recent years, on one of them:

the fourth referendum, held in November 2012, asked voters (1) whether they wanted to maintain the current political status of Puerto Rico and, if not, (2) which alternative status they prefer. Of the fifty-four percent (54.0%) who voted “No” on maintaining the status quo, 61.11% chose statehood, 33.34% chose free association, and 5.55% chose independence
