The first game has a linux x86 executable in its folder in the repository and the second game has a linux x86 executable in this directory in the link target/release.
It depends, on the situation, if you are playing open source games then no, at least for the most part, of playing closed source games that only works on windows then yes, I am just answering the question are we over reliant on steam.
