  • It’s a possibility, but I wouldn’t say it’s guaranteed. Presidents enjoy an immunity that is not afforded to most others. He got impeached twice and has had a bunch of court cases against him but what has that meant? There is no chance in hell that democrats would actually pursue putting him in jail so basically he has no consequences to face. He’ll carry out his second term as president, do all sorts of awful things, and then he’ll leave without democrats pursuing any punishments. If george w bush can escape without being arrested as the war criminal that he is, then trump doesn’t stand a chance at punishment either, so he has no reason to install a dictatorship to save himself.

Speaking of george w bush: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHVmJlMF_Lg

So yeah, I wouldn’t sweat an explicit dictatorship when the rich already completely control the system. It’s much easier to horde wealth while pretending we have a democracy and the pretense of legitimacy that brings than it is with an overt dictatorship. You can see this with people online making all sorts of excuses for this “democracy” of ours.

That democrats weren’t even willing to budge on their support for genocide means that they don’t actually mind fascism. They can scream on and on about how dangerous trump is, but when they’re kissing dick cheney’s ass and trying to court other such “moderate” fascists, then they’re just full of shit. So yes, it is largely the fault of democrats, who are the only other viable party in the country, for not fighting fascism. They set themselves up as the only solution and then failed to get the votes. Reminder that this is the same party boosting the campaigns of far-right candidates just so they can point at how crazy their opponents are. All they’re accomplishing is helping out the fascist cause, which again, democrats don’t seem to mind based on their actions.

  • It’s funny that even with this much of a massive loss, you diehard democrats find a way to blame leftists. If such a massive margin of loss is the result of leftists, then that would mean leftists are too big of a group to ignore, but ignore is all you and the rest of the democratic party strategists did during the election so that you could instead curry favor with war criminals like dick cheney and telling people that their concerns of genocide don’t matter. Turns out democrats are more scared of leftists gaining any power than they are of project 2025.

  • Covid is the reason democrats won in 2020, but they assumed they won because they’re geniuses. Instead of trying to appeal to voters, they just tried to tell people to vote against trump. Turns out that isn’t enough to motivate people when there isn’t a pandemic raging on that is making people’s lives miserable. Democrats really need to get their act together because 2028 won’t be against trump, so the “anyone but trump” strategy will be even more useless and all that time spent kissing the asses of ghouls like dick cheney just tells people that republicans are okay to vote for.

  • I love how anything outside of what the democratic party wants to do is labelled “ideological purity” even though democrats endlessly shriek at anyone who does not toe the democratic party line. Democrats had their way, again, and lost, again. How about we try something new instead of democrats constantly trying to appeal to fascists while pretending to be the only thing to stand against fascism?

  • Who are you saying helped the fascists win? The democratic party courted war criminals like dick cheney, claimed that genocide must be carried out, and immediately insisted we run even further to the right after losing the election. Are these the ones you think are defending us from fascism? I suppose it’s the leftists’ fault for wanting to promote popular progressive policies instead of pretending everything is fine?

I would be interested in knowing which country you’re from since the neoliberal-fascism tag team seems to be running globally and I would be interested in knowing where this isn’t happening.

  • None of the west’s enemies are afforded the same generosity. Maybe we don’t want the majority of guests to be a bunch of mindless parrots who only care about human rights when mainstream media from “their side” tell them to care (as an excuse to project power globally). It ends up permeating all discussions, even ones that aren’t directly about politics and you end up building an echo chamber. It shapes how you see the world, for example, you took a post talking specifically about western leadership to be about “convicting all of western civilization” as if the victim of the genocide is actually the west.
