The average is more like 25-30 minutes. If it breaks 45 minutes then either it’s a really even game (which is fun), or the team that has the lead doesn’t know how to use their advantage to win (which is excruciating for both teams).

Still, you’re right, that’s a long time to be locked in with someone who is clearly weighing down the team. And of course, that person is probably embarrassed about their performance, so they’ll often lash out at other people to deflect from themselves, which will tilt the rest of the team even if they were chill until then.

The advantage that a lead gives you is also a lot bigger than in most other games. Players get drastically more powerful as they gain XP and money, so if one team gets an early lead, no amount of mechanical skill will be able to counter their advantage. The only way to catch up is to avoid fighting, drag the game out, farm NPCs, and try to punish the enemy’s mistakes. That’s extremely frustrating if you’re not the one who died and gave them the lead.

It’s hard to avoid getting caught up in all of that unless you decide to focus completely on your own game and improving over time, and stop caring about individual wins and losses. Most people don’t have that kind of perspective. I didn’t either back when I played League a lot.

  • No one is preventing you from leaving the USA. Most countries are just making it difficult to enter. I’m all for having more open borders, but that’s probably not what you’re arguing for.

No one is preventing you from starting your own community either. There just isn’t any land remaining that isn’t already owned.

And the “punished based on the rules of the given community, or expelled” thing is describing a government, although because of the aforementioned lack of unowned land, they only expel immigrants nowadays.

  • Housing and healthcare are essential for survival. If anyone doesn’t get those things because they can’t afford them, while others have far more than they need, that’s cruel and unjust. You should include both of them under “assistance for less fortunate”.

Schools have more benefits than I can list here. It’s absurd to not fund them.

Culture attracts people to spend money in your city, which benefits business owners and many laborers, and generates a lot of tax revenue. Usually that brings in a lot more money than it costs, and that turns into extra money for essential services, instead of taking away from them. Sports can fall into this category as well, but those have gotten out of hand lately and sort of turned into a dick measuring contest between different cities.

I’m mostly with you on tax breaks, though. They’re supposed to incentivise corporations to create jobs in your city instead of somewhere else, which should have a good ROI, but in practice it’s almost inherently corrupt.

Well yeah, they’re just blocking known fingerprinting services. If you use a tool that they don’t recognize, it’ll still work, but their approach will still block the big companies that can do the most harm with that data.

The only alternative is probably to disable WebGL entirely, which isn’t a reasonable thing to do by default.

The other replies are simplifying too much. Just adding or subtracting in a loop would be far too slow.

A multiplier will find the partial products by using AND gates, and then sum them, which is very similar to long multiplication as they teach you in school. This article explains it pretty well.

Division is more complicated. It’s sort of done like long division, but apparently that is slow and there’s some magic with two’s complements that can make it faster. Honestly I don’t fully understand it yet.

  • I haven’t said anything on the subject before, because I don’t care very much, but I don’t know what the alternative is supposed to be. It’s not like someone who is that famous can walk into a public airplane without putting her own safety at risk and causing trouble for other passengers.

It’s also well known that conservatives really hate her because she told her fans to vote and these memes are part of their effort to discredit her. Whether the point has any merit or not, it’s obvious who started the trend and who it’s helping.

  • If your connection is stable, the latency will more or less be the same, but TCP will consume more bandwidth because of acknowledgement packets, making it harder to keep your connection stable.

On an unstable connection, TCP latency will skyrocket as it resends packets, while UDP will just drop those packets unless the game engine has its own way of resending them. Most engines have that, but they only do it for data that is marked as “important”. For example using an item is important, but the position of your character probably isn’t, because it’ll be updated on the next tick anyway.
