so how would a smart person react to this?
I would just start working the same way they do. If you’re the only one with that work ethic and picking up their slack you’re probably enabling them to be lazy because they know it will get done. If things stop getting done in a timely manner someone higher up may notice and do something about it then hopefully everyone will have to start contributing again. Also might be worth talking to your boss about it.
I’m not sure how common this situation is, but I’d assume different places have different work cultures. Looking for another job is a good idea, hopefully you’ll find a place that’s a better fit.
I used to play Halo 2 all the time, still have my old Xbox and disc, I should dust it off and give it a go.
That’s the neat thing, Crowdstrike bypassed the rigorous testing process to get Kernel software updates signed by Microsoft by having the part that was tested and signed by Microsoft load another update file. Still unclear how Crowdstrike missed it before releasing it though.
This is a pretty good break down of what happened by a retired windows dev. Including how software operates between Kernel and user zones. The break down of what he thinks happened is about 6:40.
Fend off the dirt man.
I came to terms with getting old a very long time ago. Being able to play games at a high level requires hand to eye coordination and dexterity that sadly degrade as you age. It’s not surprising that top players are younger. It’s exciting to hear that a younger generation is picking up a game from my early adulthood. What’s even more wild are the ones competing in games like Tetris, a game from my childhood.
The first game I ever beta tested.
Interesting. I come from a family that wasn’t very physically affectionate, and I hug most of my friends every time I see them.
Just tested in the console, it gives an illegal character error and gives you the line number.
Are you using the YouTube Music app, or the YouTube app and loading the music section? I’ve never seen anything you’re describing.
This is some exciting news! Years ago I got interested in making my own game and went through many of his tutorials to get a handle on Unity. Eventually I lost interest and stopped working on it. After hearing about Godot I had gotten interested in trying again but never got around to even installing the software. Maybe this will finally get me motivated to get back into it!
Seriously! So many terrible adaptations. It’s refreshing to see really good shows based on games. It also doesn’t hurt that shows like “The Last of Us” and “Fallout” are based on story driven games so there is already a lot of good story to build off.
Not super tricky, they’re using ChartJS and with some very minimal tweaks to the config (aka changing “pie” to “bar”) the data would look like this!
edit: does look a bit awkward due to the huge difference in values. A logarithmic scale would look better, but is much more confusing.
Uh Oh!
This is the exact same thing Digg did when they released 4.0, which caused the huge Reddit migration almost 15 years ago.
MICHAEL!
Fun fact, all it took to make a floppy disk double sided was a hole punch.
I’ve used Plex to run a media server from my home in the past, been a few years though. I believe you can still do that with the free version. Then you just need to set up Plex to wake on LAN so the computer you’re using for the media server will wake up when you want to watch something. This does require that the device is hardwired as WiFi doesn’t offer wake options.
How do you pronounce gift?
