accelerate the velocity of development
Honestly I believe them. Because velocity is a vector, development going directly backwards at an accelerating rate is in line with what they said.
When I first saw this I realized I had assumed Dr. Pepper (beyond the drink) was a man, but I think for me it was because as a kid I remember commercials with a deep voiced man and my dumb kid brain thought that was the doctor.
Society truly peaked at the height of YouTube poops.
For work I’m a multimedia designer and use the full Adobe suite (needs to be Adobe for collaboration), articulate storyline (Windows only), custom commands line git tools developed in house, along with a bunch of random other design programs that i use with varying frequency.
Recreationally it’s mostly PC gaming, but I do play around in blender, 3d printing programs like cura, and Godot game engine.
I think some of these have Linux clients, but anything for work pretty much needs to be those programs since I pass work of to other designers as well as work on their projects.
As much as you’re getting downvoted, I’m not either. I wish I could, linux just can’t do what I need for my job + recreation.
As a millennial, I think zoomer slang is much funnier than ours was. We said things like “epic win” or dumb shit about Chuck Norris but these zoomers are out there in the trenches sticking out their gyatts for the rizzler.
Thank you for sacrificing yourself for our memes.
Actually I am a paleontologist and coincidentally I do have a new discovery. I call it “Largefoot”, or it’s taxonomically correct name, Largus Footus. I would show my definitive proof but I left it in a pocket of my other sweatpants.
Kids these days can’t even read Standard Babylonian 😔
It’s no secret that the “i” in “Gilgamesh” stands for “ipad”.
But that whole argument follows the logical fallacy “whataboutism” to downplay X because Y and Z also do bad things. Just because you perceive something to be in line with a standard baseline of corporate shitiness doesn’t mean it’s not worth criticizing.
As for individualism, it’s no secret that lemmy is somewhat left leaning which contributes to the general vibe. From my experience there is a lot more nuance and depth to the discussions that happen here when factoring in population size compared to other similar areas of the internet.
I disagree. Nintendo isn’t just some company that has legal beef and comparing their shitiness with Blizzard’s is like comparing apples to oranges.
Nintendo is a litigious bully and patent troll that has a long, long list of hurting the fans that love their games. They don’t just settle for cease and desists, they historically ruin people’s lives (see Gary Bowser). What feels even worse about Nintendo is the complete misaligned of their product/ brand vs. how they treat fans. You can point to similar companies like Disney and I say that yes, I would happily cheer on any misfortune that comes to them with the same fervor as Nintendo.
That’s like whining that everyone hates Blizzard or Ubisoft because of some hive mind mentality. Could it be that maybe it’s just a commonly hated company based off their unethical actions over the last 10+ years?
But actually though, music goes up into the sky and becomes clouds.
This is 100% incorrect. Not in terms of science, but in terms of a qualifier of what a colour is. Just because a colour doesn’t exist on the rainbow spectrum, doesn’t mean it’s not an “actual colour”.
What you’re referring to is the definition of colour specifically by physics. There are other professional fields and areas of science that use different qualifiers for colour. I work with color everyday and I can with certainty say that purple, pink, rust, teal, and sky blue are all colours.
Kind of like how different fields have different definitions of entropy or different cultures have different names for snow. It’s all dependent on the framework you use and ignoring every other framework is wrong.
I don’t want to advocate for shoveling money into any company, but if you could sell your steam games it would screw over indie devs in a big way. Many games made by small studies or one person don’t have as much content as AAA studies and would be far more prone to a small handful of copies being distributed back and forth on the used market instead of each being a sale that goes to the developer.
Some devs would see a drop in sales as much as 90% and I just don’t think it’s worth it to shoot the gaming industry in the foot like that.
On the flip side, I can’t imagine being the person arguing for the insurance companies makes them a better or happy person in the long term. Being a devil’s henchman, over time it must destroy important parts of them like empathy, trust in people, and their basic human decency. Virtues that are needed now more than ever in society.
It might be different for others but I’ve been around furries, have had furry friends, and it still on some deep level that I can’t control makes me a bit uncomfortable. Like I do not judge, and I fully support consenting adults doing whatever they want, but if someone in a fur suit sat next to me on a train, I would be a tad bit uneasy. For me, I think it’s the sexualizing animals that gets me. I’m not saying furries do anything bad to real animals, just that the way I view animals is something incompatible with any form of sexualization.
That being said, I fully support furries doing whatever they want as long as it isn’t forced on me. All the furry friends I’ve had over the years have been wonderful and creative people, and have never made me feel uncomfortable.
That just reinforces the fact that it’s an actual genocide. If the general population wasn’t just being murdered en masse, the statistics would skew towards military targets.
