Especially from a tech critic.
He is in the article and mentioned as a lefty, but just absent from the article’s title. I agree, just say “one out of 40” and you still make your point.
E.B. Farnum from Deadwood (the HBO show, anyway. Who knows what he was like in real life?)
We have a lot of sprawl here and the reasons are many. Just like Dallas and LA, we have a ton of road infrastructure and zoning laws that eat up a lot of land. We also don’t have any natural barriers, like an ocean or a mountain range, to limit our expansion. Just to keep building and add another lane. Thanks for asking.
Marchetti intended the constant to be 1 hour round trip, so a half-hour commute one-way. It’s an important distinction, since here in Atlanta the exurban commuter is clocking in at 1.5 hours or more into the city, well outside of what is considered tolerable. Multiply that by a million and you get some irritated people.
ARTHUR: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king!
DENNIS: Listen – strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Well, that’s one area you definitely don’t want dandelions growing.
“Wow, three whole openings!”
This is a total flip of the intention of the source material, but in this moment (in the film) it reads in the character’s voice. I think this is a good message buried in a questionable meme, unless I’m missing something. I’m old, so i used to be meta, but then they changed what meta was, and now what is meta is strange and scary to me.
They’re related, those incestuous, chinless WASPs. Brother takes sister to a formal dance and stops by the pharmacy to get a malt and let Dad get a whiff of sister’s corsage. Keep it in the family!
They do, and as a Canadian, they should know that fellow Canadian John Hopps invented the 1st pacemaker. He’s even considered the father of biomedical engineering. I dug through trying to find out if he coined the term “heartpacer,” no such luck. It sounds like a Dutch translation to me.
I am outside of the loop and I appreciate your break-down. I am all for paying for useful services, but I have such a backlog of media that I need to watch, I don’t benefit from Trakt. I like a paid business model, though
We should all question a “free” app that lets us spend 1 or 2 or 8 hours a day on their platform. We’ve gotten greedy, thinking that everything should be personal data or advertiser supported. It stinks that Trakt is cutting features while raising prices, all for a pretty simple service, but I think subscription services that protect your privacy are worth funding.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
My Thermador is no different, shitty ice maker.
A US made drone designed to be adopted by law enforcement/military with a hefty price tag is probably relying on robust public funds to procure such drones. Lucky for us n’er-do-wells, those public funds are being DOGEd. Right? …right?
I know what you mean, but I immediately heard it different. It’s something we should be asking daily, just to make sure they have what they need. Are trans women okay? Are trans men okay? What do you need? I have a sympathetic ear and bourbon; how can I help?
He’s great. I first heard him on a Ninja Tune compilation. I got to see him in a 100 seater doing a poetry night. All snaps!
That’s great! I think we need to pay close attention to our water supply and I appreciate that you are posting a positive take.
We have good water here, though it is the most expensive municipality in the country. The elevated price comes from our long-ignored sewer infrastructure and the layer-cake of band-aids that we are paying for. That said, we have steady rainfall and plentiful aquifers. Water here is almost taken for granted (except for that sewer bill, which is calculated on water consumption).
Even still, I have whole house paper filters to pull the iron out before it gets to any faucet, then a second stage of carbon filters for drinking water. Cheap to install and easy to maintain and it goes a long way to improving our water quality. I don’t know if you are using any other filters, but you can quickly turn an A- water experience to an A+.
I might be out of the loop - is this a known fascist, a public figure whose politics we know?
Either way, he is a Master Sargent in the US Marine Corp. He took an oath to defend the Constitution and not a single person or party. His power is bestowed by the people he is sworn to serve. If he is wearing that uniform with honor, that uniform is most definitely anti-fascist.
