Revanced on my phone for watching quick videos/on the go and SmartTube on the TV. If I find a longer video to watch I usually start it in Revanced and then play it from history in SmartTube
You know who used to do that? Microsoft Teams. I would take photos with my phone and upload them via Teams, Teams would display them just fine but saving them teams would name them .png (even though they were jpeg) and I couldn’t open them with the gnome image viewer (this is also how I found out that the image viewer prioritizes extension over magic byte (which seems stupid to me).

Have you tried gpodder? It basically does what it says on the tin it plays podcasts (and you can subscribe to them etc.) and if you have gpodder on desktop and a gpodder compatible app (like AntennaPod) on you phone it will not only sync over your subscriptions but even you listening status, so you can just pick up where you left off.
Honestly I just use AntennaPod on Android. I’ve used Gpodder Desktop before but I don’t really listen to podcasts on desktop… So I don’t really need the sync but it’s nice to have especially if you’re moving phones/OS
Regarding AntennaPod it’s honestly the perfect podcast app it does everything (chapters/chapter images …) I want from a podcast app and it’s open source

It really seems like investors decides that they needed to “diversify” their offering and they need something with AI now … Framework was on a good path imo but of course a repairable laptop only goes so far since people can repair it and don’t need to replace it every 2 years (or maybe just replace the motherboard) so if you want to grow you need to make more products …
Yeah I saw that. It’s definitely intriguing. For now I’m good with the free tailscale but might look into it. What’s your experience with headscale? It’s mostly a broker right so probably not to Ressource excessive? I have a small public VPS for getting to my selfhosted infrastructure so I might just add in headscale there
I kinda shied away from tailscale because “I wanted to do it on my own” but I’ve just set up tailscale (while on a train no less) and it was really simple … Guess I’ll run with it for now :D now I’ll just have to set up the send/receive scripts but that’s just some BASHing my head against a wall ;)

Guess I was lucky. I got an apprenticeship as a Sysadmin and was told I’d mostly be in the in-house/client IT (Windows) but since I had a lot of Linux experience already, on my first day they put me into the server/hosting department (Linux) where I spent most of my apprenticeship.
But yeah looking for a job now, most companies seem to look for “good experience with windows/Windows server required” and “experience with Linux a bonus”.
I love Calibre. I’ve recently broken my E-Reader (Tolino) but all my books are backed up on Calibre so the only loss is the hardware (still sad but not as annoying)
Still haven’t properly set up my backups … Have my Nextcloud on a zfs (single disk sadly) and want to send it to a server at my parents place (also zfs) but both are behind NAT. While I’ve successfully set up wireguard between the two, but the connection won’t stay up so there’s still a ways to go till I got a happy off-site Backup.

To claim that “Nazis are only relevant in the ex-GDPR” is part of what gave us this mess. Yes the AfD as a Party and other Fascist organizing still benefit from a lot of factors stemming from the History but fascist have a foothold and are gaining ground in the whole of Germany, as well as all other partys trolling to the right in “response” to the AfDs popularity. Friedrich Merz’s latest escapades are just a new lowlight in the “mainstream” Partys attempt of claiming they can deport better.
So no I would say protest is substantial in every part of the country and 300000 people taking to the street in one Major city is nothing to sneeze at. (There are protest happing all over the country by the way).
Let me tell you:
I’ve been using Linux exclusively since ~2010 and moved my mum over back when XP got canned. Printers always have been and still are the bane of my existence. From what I know from other people working in IT printers are always bad, however of course the driver support situation in Linux is so much worse. My mum used to have a Samsung mfp that would print in Linux (most of the time) but I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it to scan reliably. In the end I’ve set her up with a dual boot with a simple “click here to switch to Windows” button so she could scan in there (saving the scans to a NAS)
From my experience printers mostly either work or don’t work in Linux. If you are looking for a new printer I’ve only had food experiences with Brother. If you already have a printer and it’s not working right I can recommend sxouring through forums for that one wisdom of the ancients that can help (and possibly sacrificing a goat)
I bow also have a Canon printer (it was a gift) and with the official Linux drivers it worked for years. Recently it just wouldn’t print from Linux anymore till I switched the drivers to the generic “Guteprint” now it’s printing fine again …
Tl;dr: printers are evil and Linux drivers are sometimes making them worse
