  • This is what really hit me reading Mark Twain’s autobiography when he started describing the atrocities by the US government against Native Americans.

His autobiography was dictated to a stenographer which he then edited later. This way it has the feeling of a simple discussion with Twain, and because of this the discussion of tragedy as a current event, just as you and I would chat over a coffee, really hits home how little we’ve changed.

  • When I was young my parents encouraged me to watch Marx Brothers, Three Stooges, and Abbott & Costello. These are easy things for children to watch because the physical comedy is universal.

As I got older my love for them remained, but also it gave me a love for media from any age. So long as it’s done reasonably I think this sort of thing can be quite enriching.

  • Your clear grasp on the language as a SME goes a long way towards breaking down the silos within our resources. We’ll need to set a strong cadence in order to drive these new workflows from storming to norming. I’ll set a friendly follow-up to make sure your progress doesn’t get yellow-lighted in this week’s board review. I really appreciate your time on this task. Keep up the good work! Best, Robot.

Edit: Looks like I can give everyone 5 minutes of their day back!

  • Column 2 status would absolutely make sense if we weren’t talking about an administration that slapped tariffs on penguins.

Russia still has billions in trade with the US, far more than any of the other three in column 2 and far more than the vast majority of trade partners assigned tariffs. The tariffs were assigned with a simple trade deficit calculation that Russia was spared. If anything, that this administration is so eager to “get even” that it slaps tariffs on penguins while missing one of its largest trade deficits says more about their lack of attention to detail than anything else.
