Apparently he used to be the CEO of AWS and then became CEO of the entirety of Amazon. Subsidiaries do sometimes have separate CEOs. The Blackstone CEO that was recently shot was the CEO of their housing division and the UHC one was not the top level CEO either.
If you’re comprised of multiple separate corporations, each one having its own CEO makes sense I suppose
