I saw a “update” button pop up on my screen. The IT guy ran over, shouted “WTF I turned that off! Fucking bullshit!” And he stormed off.

I think about that a lot.

We have one app where client management can’t globally disable update checks or notifications, but also, the updates aren’t critical enough to constantly validate and roll out.

So we get that “update available” badge in the app and can’t do anything about it. Probably not an issue for most people, since they already do updates only when they’re forced to, but annoying to the few who even look at those notifications.

Yeah, sure. I don’t think I’ve ever directly attached them…

And why do the labs need a custom label size and layout, always?! I’m sure they’re just trying to be difficult

Right? Like leave one on the settings for prod, use the others for testing out the different settings.

More like a love and hate relationship. I normally turn off my work computer and turn on my gaming one. Most of my time I am using one. Or a pocket computer some call it smartphone.

I hate that computers=troubleshooting, to the point where I won’t buy stuff with unnecessary computer electronics in it. Its getting to the point where I look at a product and just convert it in my head to however long I think it will take out of my life to troubleshoot it repeatedly.

But yes, I still work in IT by choice, for some reason.
