Me too. Some of them had minigames attached to them and it was so much fun. I think my most played minigame was something from one of the Cinderella DVDs about clicking on objects in the palace. That was neat.

The one I remember playing had quick time events (a video plays, and you need to press a certain button quickly after the prompt else you crash)

It was a cool use of the format

I remember waking up to the looping intro quite often art parties - film went on, people got stoned and fell asleep

This is me, but AGGRESSIVELY SARCASTIC. That shit was an abomination. DVD in general was such an anti-consumer load of shit.

For example, google DeCSS. DVDs were designed to prevent open source users from even playing the DVD. They were part of an overall industry push to lock down content and draconify copyright law, an effort which also included the DMCA.

“transitions”? I assume that’s not talking about gender transitions, the idea is kinda funny tho. No idea what other kind of transition could be on a DVD, though.

Some menus had fancy animations or played short movie clips or audio lines when you went into a submenu. Kind of like a PowerPoint transition.

Just random scenes from the movie transitioning into another while there’s music playing. Like a movie screensaver.
