In an interview with KQED, Gov. Gavin Newsom warned the Trump administration is laying the groundwork to question the results of California’s Proposition 50 vote.

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday accused the Trump administration of “rigging the election” by dispatching federal poll monitors to five California counties, as voters cast ballots on Newsom’s Proposition 50 redistricting measure.

The Department of Justice announced Friday that it would deploy personnel to polling sites in Fresno, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties to “ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law,” ahead of the state’s Nov. 4 special election.

In an interview with KQED’s Political Breakdown, Newsom said the move was a “setup” for the Trump administration to cast doubt on the potential victory of Proposition 50 — a plan to redraw the state’s congressional district lines to advantage Democrats.

    Yup. America is fucked for the foreseeable. No one trusts the system anymore. In 2020, the MAGA said the election was stolen. In 2024, the Dems said the same thing(Thankfully, they didnt storm the capitol like fucking morons though).

    America is definitely on a path of some to a hard showdown. Not trusting the system, thinking that the only way you can lose is because the other side cheated… nothing good comes from that. The Republican party needs to take back control from the MAGA fuckwits. This extremism on their end is radicalising elements of the left that are becoming the other side of the MAGA coin. And thats only going to make more MAGA morons.

    Someone, ANYONE, needs to get that party back to being just corrupt again. Cos what they are now is fucking silly. And by silly, I mean dangerous as fuck.

      That’s precisely what created MAGA. That’s the swamp.

      The Democrats did purge the radicals… and that was their base. Over decades, America’s heartland was sold out to corporations and the urban Brunch Democrats didn’t care. The small farms are gone. Then right wing Democrats told middle America that the economy was fine when it most clearly was not.

      Biden was a moderate. Harris was a moderate. What’s that definition of insanity again?

      I think saying this kind of stuff is SO dishonest. Every election you can find people saying the election was stolen. But that is not even remotely close to what the Republicans did in 2020.

      Every presidential nominee has conceded except for Trump. Even Al Gore, whose election literally was stolen by the Republicans in the Supreme Court, still conceded for the benefit of democracy.

      So please stop spreading this kind of stuff. It only normalizes what Trump did and will do in 2028.

Thats your current narrative. Just like it was, for a lot of online dems, a lie that he won. You all did the same in 2016, when you werent happy that he won.

      Harris is DID NOT say the election was stolen. She did the exact opposite of what Trump did. She conceded and acknowledged result of the vote.

      On Nov 6 she said:

      … we must accept the results of this election. Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I also told him that we will help him and his team with their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.

      A fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results. That principle as much as any other distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny, and anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it.

            I mean very different league, but there are studies reports noting some extreme irregularities in several key cities. IE juristictions where hundreds voted for the democratic senator, but zero votes for harris etc…

            but yes obviously the key huge thing to point out is democratic represenatives and candidates. aren’t loudly screaming those on the news and twixxer etc… to encourage mass civil unrest
