I’m a bit doubtful for the success of the Steam Machine due to the skyrocketing component prices. I’m afraid the price point will be too high for large scale adoption.
That’s an issue the entire industry will need to reckon with soon. I think gaming tech is going to sort of plateau and enter an optimization era. Was probably overdue for a correction anyway, but it’ll be painful for a while. It’s possible the Steam Machine will be delayed who knows. Or it’ll just be a hobbyist item until prices hit a tipping point and equalize.
