Anyone who did not vote for Kamala on the basis of her position on the war in Gaza is an idiot.
This “article” doesn’t really say anything. Of course Kamala lost support because of Gaza. It was an unwinnable issue. She would’ve lost support from either the moderates or the left no matter what her position was.
There were literally idiots protesting about Gaza outside Kamala’s events. Everyone joking in this thread about shooting yourself in the foot. If you had have asked the Trump team, how can we of the left really shoot ourselves in the foot - they would have said go protest about Gaza outside Kamala’s events. Well done idiots.
I bet Gazans are really glad that people didn’t vote for Kamala, I bet that as they dig the remains of friends and neighbours from the rubble they take solace in the fact that at least some Americans didn’t vote for Kamala and sent a message to the Democrat party. I mean Trump’s board of peace is sure as shit going to deliver them prosperity and joy, at least if you’re a wealthy white Israeli anyway.
I didn’t vote for Harris. I fucking hate that woman. I’m a communist, not a liberal.
If she had changed on Gaza I would have voted for her.
That’s a stupid take.
First, obviously Kamala was the lesser of two evils. That’s not how elections work. These are broad, statistical events, and no amount of voter shaming is going to fix running a shit platform.
Second, stop framing wanting the end to the genocide as a left issue. If you read the article you’d know she lost far more moderate and independent voters to the issue. Fact is, most people just didn’t vote - she lost to the fuckin couch.
Third, Jesus Christ get some media literacy. The article says it cost her votes, not that it cost her the election. There are a host of issues that cost the election, including Gaza. Don’t pretend that people protesting over it at the DNC, the only major convention hosting people that might give a shit, was what did it.
Fourth, Jesus Christ, you think protesting at the RNC would do fuckall? Republican voters only started trending negatively on Gaza when Nazis started saying politicians were supporting the Jews.
I’m in a safe Dem area. I voted Harris and know people who didn’t because of Gaza. Their votes didn’t really matter because of where they lived. If the race was going to be close in their areas they would have voted. It sure is interesting how people understand the concept of strategic voting when it benefits their perspective. Withholding votes in safe districts to signal disapproval with the candidate or party is one of the most basic milquetoast things someone can do.
All of this hubbub and they didn’t even affect the election outcome per basically every article that has come out since. Had she fully endorsed a more populist approach I’m sure she would’ve beat the couch for enough people to tip her over the edge, but instead her campaign kept pretending like everyone wanted a right leaning centrist incapable of any stance not endorsed by their handlers. Americans writ large don’t care enough about Americans to do anything substantial, they certainly don’t care about Gaza more than voting for a candidate they thought would materially improve their lives. I’ve been trying to explain for over a year and people just don’t like that answer. Admittedly, I too would prefer to live in a world where the issue is that too many people cared about a genocide and not that America just happens to be full of stupid fascistic bigots.
we should have spoken publicly about our criticism" of how Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu executed the war.
The fucking “war”?? They have understood nothing
There’s already speculation that handlers at the DNC knew at the time and knowingly chose to risk losing rather than risk offending AIPAC
*shoots self in foot*
Y’all this is crazy, but after assessing the data, it seems the hole in my foot was caused by a bullet!!

No real secret there.
Well, the secret is that establishment Dems have been informed about it.
Now watch them change absolutely nothing.
