The UK and the US struck 13 Houthi targets in several locations in Yemen on Thursday in response to a recent surge in attacks by the Iran-backed militia group on ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, three US officials said.

The Houthi rebels said the airstrikes killed at least 16 people and wounded 35.

American and British fighter jets and US ships hit a wide range of underground facilities, missile launchers, command and control sites, a Houthi vessel and other facilities, according to US sources.

How is this in any way genocide?

This isn’t Palestine we’re talking about. Yemen isn’t even close to Palestine.

How does it help Gaza in any way to attack merchant ships off the Yemeni coast? You know where Yemen is in relation to Gaza, yes?

They hit an Iranian bound grain transport yesterday to boot. They have no idea what they’re doing

Yeah, they can claim they’re doing it to help Gaza but that doesn’t mean it’s true.

In theory I can understand the idea that increasing shipping and insurance costs will put pressure on international support for Israel but it’s pretty clear at this point they’re wrong.

Especially if they’re also attacking American and British ships. No way are the U.S. and the U.K. going to change their allegiances over people trying to sink their ships if they’re near Yemen.

Of course they will. Economic pressure is the only thing they care about.

If the money dried up and the billionaires get big mad they will abandon israel.

Unless you lost a /s there, the billionaires will continue to earn money. It’s the rest of us getting hit with the cost.

I think it is a bit early for that assessment. In the same wake you could argue that sanctions on Russia are useless, because Russia is still fighting in Ukraine.
