A few weeks in and Trump has essentially:

  • Full control of the (federal part of the) legislative branch.
  • Gutted the executive branch through DOGE and EOs.
  • Practically DDOSed the judicial branch.
  • Purged and replaced possibly disloyal military leadership.
  • Taken exploratory steps on declaring military law.
  • Made very thinly veiled threats of invasion towards several countries, two of which are currently allied with him.
  • Wiped out more than a century of foreign policy gains in a week (which is honestly somewhat impressive, in a fucked up kind of way).

Americans, if you ever wondered how the rise of the Nazi dictatorship looked like from the inside of Germany, wonder no more, it looked kind of like this.

My account is too new to upload screenshots but look up “Technocracy Incorporated.”

Elon Musk’s grandfather & Tech. Inc. tried to overthrow Canada during WW2, before being arrested.

Errol (Elon’s dad) says they were associated with the Nazi party of Canada, but caveats he “wasn’t sure if they knew what was going on back in Germany” (it was 1939, almost 1940 - make up your own mind)

He then went back to South Africa and wrote books about how it would be a bastion against “anti white, anti Christian” forces

Guessing you wanted to show something like this? Otherwise you might be able to post links at least, not sure what your instance does in terms of restrictions.

And yeah, it’s interesting that Trumps territorial threats seem to pretty much match this “vision” so far, with the exception of Gaza I guess.

I usually post a screenshot from the Wiki on the movement with this quote:

“On October 7, 1940, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested members of Technocracy Incorporated, charging them with belonging to an illegal organization. One of the arrested was Joshua Norman Haldeman, a Regina chiropractor, former director of Technocracy Incorporated, and the grandfather of Elon Musk”

I’m not sure how to link directly to a subsection of Wikipedia. But that quote is on the Wikipedia for “Technocracy Incorporated”

Slightly different, but here’s another source that’s focused on Musk’s family’s immigration to the US long afterwards. It has some pictures/snippets of newspapers at the time

"Or as Elon Musk’s father put it plainly:

‘They [Elon’s mother and family] came to South Africa from Canada because they sympathised with the Afrikaner government. They used to support Hitler and all that sort of stuff’"

“Know your history, and you can see plainly how the Musk family today in America appears to be aiming for what grandpa Haldeman dreamed up in South Africa - technology used to create and run a white ethnostate dictatorship”

I’m not sure how to link directly to a subsection of Wikipedia.

Mouse over the link to the subsection in the sidebar, right-click, copy link location.

Not sure if there is a way to link to a specific paragraph though. Since you seem to be new to Lemmy you may want to take a look at this for formatting your posts: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/02-media.html

And since it seems you already had a post deleted, there is a modlog. You can reach it from the sidebar of any instance or community. So if you go to !Europe@feddit.org then click the modlog link in the sidebar, and scroll down a bit you will see the reason your post was removed. You can then appeal that action to either the mods of that Europe community or the admins of the feddit.org instance.

As you seem to be American and inclined to research, here are a few keywords you may want to look up: Operational Security, Signal Intelligence, End-to-end-encryption. Be advised that up/downvotes as well as a lot of other metadata is essentially public on Lemmy, because it is available to every instance (you can host one yourself if you want to). Your government may be blind on four eyes right now, but there is still one remaining.

Also don’t get drawn in too deep into the reasons why any of these people do what they do. It’s interesting to the point of being too good to be true, I’ll admit that, but it is a distraction. Focus on organising yourself and the people around you. Good luck.

Honestly from Nazism back in the 30’s and 40’s to today technocracy, I can see the similarities. Add some modern China.
