A new memo from the Trump administration reveals something shocking: ICE agents have been told they can enter homes without a warrant to arrest migrants, based on little more than suspicion.
It reminds me of the one scene in Inglorious Bastards:
I wonder, if you’re not harboring any immigrants and ICE is breaking open your door because they suspect you do, is it morally OK to start shooting to defend your home? How would you even know it’s not a burglar?
At this point, I think it’s okay to start shooting even if you know it’s ICE. Corrupt secret police that can’t get a warrant fall into the home invasion category.
Then who’s to say that a group of thieves just put on some gear wear a bunch of ICE logos on their shirt and break down your door, tell you you can’t do anything about it and rob you blind?
There’s a reason why there are complicated rules of law … because if you remove the most basic laws, everyone can just start abusing them.
