According to an overnight CNN report, Donald Trump’s truce with China in the trade war he created could fall apart after his administration made two unforeseen “bombshell” announcements.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Wednesday that the U.S. will  “aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students” studying in critical fields or if they have connections to the Chinese Communist Party, an announcement which was met with a wave of anger by families in China, many of whom have saved for years to educate their children abroad.

The second blow came after the Financial Times reported that “moves by US President Donald Trump had effectively cut off some American companies from selling software used to design semiconductors to China.

That one-two punch has reportedly “infuriated” Chinese authorities who felt they had made progress with the volatile Trump as the clock ticks on a 90-day pause on increased tariffs.

You guys see that he’s demented and utterly unstable, right?

I mean - of course you do, but . . . how does everyone not see that. It’s been so, so long.

But this is how he “negotiates” even back when he wasn’t in the throes of dementia. Be belligerent, throw tantrums, whine when things aren’t going your way, gloat when they are.

Even a fully competent Trump probably thinks that he is “putting the screws” on China by doing this, to get a “better deal”. Even though we shouldn’t be linking these things at all.

      Complete lack of education…

If you’re over 60 and just got a k-12 public education, you can’t be expected to know things you weren’t taught

Same for the kids who were under No Child Left Behind, no one ever taught them critical thinking so most people that graduated American public school after 2013 only learned critical thinking and problem solving from video games.

That leaves basically just the Oregon Trail generation that were actually taught how to recognize bullshit. Everyone else was just taught to follow orders and only care about themselves.

Like, at this point it’s legitimately more surprising that people who didn’t fall for it still can’t understand why it’s working. It’s not some big secret that the American education system is shit

The hard truth is that the average person only cares about what affects them personally.

To use a more “fun” example, Nintendo fans freaked out about having to pay $80 when Nintendo’s been scummy towards their most dedicated fans for years prior. The truth is, Nintendo nixing AM2R and Pokémon Uranium didn’t affect the average fan, so they didn’t care.

$80 games? That directly harms their personal finances, so now they’re actually upset (I think people will buy the games anyway barring a recession, but I didn’t major in economics so what do I know).
