You’re right that charisma has little to do with morals, but I’d say Hitler is a prime example of someone only charismatic on stage. People who’d bought in entirely liked him, but he was no Heidrich or Eichmann.
Remember that even Hitler was very charismatic and soft spoken on most of his personal interactions.
