    One could say that the state was failing pretty hard during the french revolution as well

      Definitely but the US current situation and struggle is not at all like French Revolution. “The aristocrats”(aka the rich) are the ones who lead this, any change won’t be for the good of the people, just money changing hands. Looks more like the fall of Roman Republic to me with common people suffering and the state becoming more authoritarian.
