I could not agree more but honesty others should just make new IP im so sick of IP recycling. We never move forward if we keep recycling the past. AAA is just a zombified corpse just shambling around altogether. The Indian double a space are the new AAA.
I also generally agree with this. With my original comment, I had specific games in mind. For example, I’d love a new American McGee’s Alice that doesn’t feel so darn clunky. That kind of thing.
Games don’t feel like they’re made with fun as the goal anymore. The goal is engagement (which is significantly different from fun) to drive monetization in one form or another. It makes the whole process of playing feel tedious and empty.

I was playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night earlier, and it struck me just how fun this game is. They made it to be enjoyable, and it works.
That’s why I play Indies. Those are still full of passion.
