Reminds them of a child or childhood friend they lost. Maybe they work with kids, and it reminds them of what the kids’ lives would be like without them and similar support systems. Maybe it just moves them in the artistic sense. etc…

Yeah, like holy shit do these people come home and relax to a picture of a crying child?

Probably a lot of different possibilities, frankly.
